  Your Perfect Day
To ensure that "yours" is indeed a perfect day there are a number of traditions which should be observed. These traditions are not compulsory but to ignore them would be to risk the onset of regrets at a later date. Therefore, we help you to ensure that neither well established traditions or the enjoyment of guests are neglected.

  Welcome at the Reception

The official welcome line for guests at the reception would normally be The Bride's parents as hosts, followed by the Bridegroom's parents, the Bride and Groom, and, if you wish, the attendants (Best Man and Bridesmaids).

This ensures that both families are able to speak to the guests on arrival. A welcome drink may be offered such as Pimms, Bucks Fizz or Sherry & Fruit Punch.

  Table Plan
At a sit down reception the Bridal Party occupies the top table as shown.

  The Dinner
A selection of traditional menus is available, all prepared by our team of chefs using home grown fresh vegetables from the farm with natural organic fertilisers and include fresh filter coffee served with complimentary chocolate mints. A very comprehensive selection of wines or champagnes is available to accompany the meal and we are happy to present suggestions. Corkage is also available at £5.00 per bottle.

  Cutting the Cake
Following the dinner, traditionally, the cake is ceremonially cut by the Bride and Groom. The Groom places his hand over the Bride's and they cut the first slice together. The cake is removed from the room, prepared and served to the guests. The top tier is traditionally kept for the Christening of the first child.

  Toasts & Speeches
The Toasts would normally follow the cutting of the cake.

The first toast, to the Bride and Groom, is proposed by the Bride's father or a chosen person.
The Groom replies to this toast on behalf of himself and the Bride, thanking the Bride's parents for the wedding and the guests for their presents. He then proposes a toast to the Bridesmaids.
The Best Man responds to the Groom's speech on behalf of the Bridesmaids and then reads out messages, telegrams and E-mails from absent family and friends.

For the toast we would suggest Champagne or Sparkling Wine with Sparkling Apple or Elderflower as non-alcoholic alternatives.

  Leaving the Reception

You may choose to follow the dinner and speeches with entertainment and an evening buffet. Traditionally, at the end of the evening, the Bride and Groom are the first to leave, usually announced by the Best Man.

Although not an essential item, we would recommend the use of a professional toastmaster who will guide you and assist throughout the day to ensure that all runs smoothly and to plan. We would be happy to recommend reliable services.
